Calathea Helen Kennedy is named after botanist Helen Kennedy, who first described this species from collections made in Panama.
This is a fairly uncommon species with striking foliage that appears to be painted like peacock feathers.
Calathea Helen Kennedy care:
This plant enjoys a well draining soil that can retain a bit of moisture that is rich in organic matter. Allow your Calathea to dry out about half way before watering, taking care to not allow it to sit in excess water or remain dry for extended periods. Calathea due prefer a higher humidity environment in order to maintain their beautiful foliage. Provide your Calathea Helen Kennedy with plenty of medium to bright indirect light.

Calathea, which are commonly referred to as a "Prayer Plant", is a genus of flowering plants in the family Marantaceae. Most Calathea species will fold their leaves up at night, similar to praying hands.
Calathea are collected and prized for their uniquely patterned foliage. You'll find all types of colorful foliage within this genus, from bright pink neon to deep red to yellow and white -- Calathea has it all!
Calathea do flower, but they tend to not be very showy or colorful.
You'll find that your Calathea will be happiest with above average humidity and medium to bright indirect light.
Recently, up to 200 former Calathea species were reclassified into the genus Goeppertia.

I could t believe my eyes when Isaw this huge leaves with that stunning pattern. The plant really healthy with a strong roots system and has been thriving in my care since it came so well protected in the mail.
